Canada: Meet top 20 family-friendly companies; some offer fertility treatments

Across Canada, 20 companies have been recognised for their dedication to fostering employee well-being through pioneering family-oriented benefits, with some offering financial aid for adoption or IVF and fertility treatments, as well as adaptable work structures.

This list was featured as part of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers ranking which recognises policies in companies that leads the way in enabling employees to balance professional obligations with familial responsibilities.

These companies offer progressive support systems for working families such as extended maternity and parental leave schemes, subsidised or on-site childcare, paid personal leave, earned-days-off (EDO) programmes, flexible work arrangements, compassionate leave entitlements and eldercare resources.

In today’s competitive job market, prioritising work-life balance and family-friendly policies has become a hallmark of forward-thinking employers.

Bell Canada is a communications company which employs over 35,000 people, and promotes inclusivity with a flexible holiday policy, enabling staff to substitute any of its 13 official holidays for dates that hold personal significance.

Vancouver City Savings Credit Union / Vancity (Vancouver, BC)

Vancity provides new mothers with parental leave top-ups to 85 percent salary for up to 76 weeks, setting a high bar among credit unions. Its total staff strength is 2,490.
